BETA Closure/Launch News and Book Winner!

The WonderThemes BETA period is almost over. We have a good slog of feedback to get though and some minor bugs to wash away but after that the site will be ready for launch.

Its been a very valuable and busy few weeks where we’ve learned a lot about our awesome WordPress-powered system and how we can improve and build upon the strong foundations that are already in place. No doubt we will be missing a few key and cool features for launch (Real Artists Ship, right?) but they will be introduced soon enough :)

Currently we are aiming for a Friday the 13th of May 2011 launch date, superstitious? Na, those guys in Apollo 13 came back home just fine!

We got knocked out of #wpmadness

We lost our round 2 bout with worthy opponent WPZoom in the Theme Madness at WPCandy competition which is shame but for a site currently in BETA with a small following we did pretty well! Thanks for all the votes people, you did us proud.

Breathing life back into the BETA

Hey all! The first phase of proper WonderThemes BETA testing went live this week!

If you weren’t on the BETA mailing list then you will have missed out on the first sign-up code but its not too late! If you want to muck in just get in touch and state your case.

95% Inspiration

Remember, all BETA testers get the FULL 95% fee on their first published theme FOR LIFE!

So if you’re a WordPress theme designer or developer and have a theme in the works why not sign up now and help out with our testing phase?

Even if your theme isn’t ready yet, it doesn’t matter becuase the offer is for your first published theme no matter when you decide to publish it.

A chance to win a copy of ‘Hardboiled Web Design’

All of our WonderThemes BETA testers who sign up to the site as either a vendor or just a standard user will be placed into a competition to win the latest hot web design book ‘Hardboiled Web Design’.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is:

  1. Sign up as either a vendor or standard account
  2. Follow the @wonderthemes twitter account
  3. Supply feedback at the end of the BETA period

No too shabby ‘eh? We’ve also got a couple more prizes and gifts to hand out to our BETA-gang, just keep watching this space :)

Due to massive demand the WonderThemes open BETA invite will close in approximately 24 hours. This will allow us to halt list and user management and concentrate on getting the current alpha system ready for some live testing.

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up, the response and comments have been very encouraging :)

Currently we are still awaiting approval for our snazzy PayPal gateway which allows vendors to get paid straight away and makes purchasing themes super-simple (no messy credits or registration required). Once this has the thumbs up we can get started!
